CONTRACT EXPIRY The number of days shrink between when we send you our Contract to sign, when we receive our signed Contract back from you, and the date that the pet(s) are expected to fly. There must be enough time to properly handle your shipment in the available days left before flight. If you meant to email back the completed contract before the expiry date, but didn't, then please phone us, and we will check our schedule to see if we can fit your pet move in. If we can schedule it, we will email an updated Contract for your signature.
MICROCHIPPING & BREEDS IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET YOUR VET TO CHECK THAT YOUR PET HAS THE SAME READABLE MICROCHIP IN THEM NOW, AND AT LEAST 5 WEEKS PRIOR TO FLIGHT, AND CONFIRM IT MATCHES THE NUMBER ON THE MICROCHIP CERTIFICATE. WHERE THERE IS NO BREED CERTIFICATE OR DNA TEST RESULT, IF THERE IS ANY DISAGREEMENT BETWEEN YOUR VET AND OURS OVER THE BREED / BREED MIX OF YOUR PET(S), OUR VET ASSESSMENT IS PREDOMINANT. ITEMIZING OUR QUOTE You are looking for a pet shipper to get you pets to destination alive and healthy without paying undue charges if the paperwork is perfect, the kennel is correct for the size, breed, age, and health of your pet, properly labelled, freight paid, and presented to the airline according to their guidelines. PET PICKUP There is a sliding scale based on the current cost of gas (when quoted), the seasonal driving conditions expected, the average driving time (including a combined 3/4 hour loading & unloading). If we quoted pick-up included, but you wish to deliver to our vet instead, our quotation indicates the cost (towards the bottom), to deduct from our total quote amount.
PERMITS AND APPLICATIONS
For some countries, we can apply for these on your behalf, but for others, (such as South Africa) our overseas agent, or your own family member(s), will have to do this work some weeks (or months) prior to shipment.
When you ask for an itemized quote, you do so to compare item to item with our competition, to choose what responsibilities you want to give to someone else; EVERYTHING YOU DO, EVERYTING YOUR VET DOES, EVERYTHING YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK HAS BEEN DONE PERFECTLY - that adds (potentially) several days or weeks correcting imperfect work, explaining, and arguing (in lengthy emails) to you (and them) why the corrections are necessary - days rechecking what comes back - days that are not available just before flight, so we do the whole job, our way, and we quote you everything we are going to do in one price that you can decide you like, or don't. If you use our service, you will not be distributing the work around, or cherry picking what you would rather pay from our quote - if you do work on your own, we make no deduction to our quoted amount.
PET DELIVERY As of the beginning of 2021, we became inundated with pet moves, and there is almost no possibility of us picking up your pet from you instead of you delivering to our vet for last few days. Our building no longer allows pets brought to us, so we ask you please deliver to our vet (almost always on a Monday, but as we direct, almost always between 9:30am - 10am please. There's a lot of work the vet has to do, and your pets must be fit into a very busy Monday schedule at the vet. Our quote has a check-marked statement that you are delivering on a date, before a time (please) and our quote has been deducted the cost of pickup from you. If you need us to pick up from you instead, then we must have 2 weeks notice, there is no certainty that we can pick up (we will let you know), and you pay the additional cost on our quote.
QUOTE ONLY AIRFREIGHT. We won't supply just an air waybill. As the professional pet shipper of record, we would instantly get a bad name in the industry if we allowed you to try flying your pet(s) on inferior certificates, and/or you did not follow standard export processes, and (for free) we'd be bound to search through your certificates, and processes, detailing exactly where you went wrong - all in the past tense, where nothing could be done about it. It's not worth it for any pet shipper in any way.

TRANSIT BOARDING The airline considers you (as the unknown shipper of the pet) a risk to the aircraft. We all now live under the constant threat of terrorism. We have always separated pet from owner 48 hours, and more (since before even 911). We use a veterinary hospital (who has handled our pet shipments for more than 2 decades), who completes required veterinary work, and finishes documentation before the CFIA certifies. The Vet hold is for stress management, be certain the pet has no tranquilizer in their system, certain the pet is healthy for travel, is not a danger to the aircraft, and to give the vet time to finish perfecting the documents, allowing time to get those for an appointment at the CFIA before flight.
