EMBARGO: means, the pet will not fly (no matter what). Within Canada no pets are flown during Christmas rush (which is between about the 15th December to about the 15th January). Animals booked to fly overseas, may still fly closer to Christmas, but Petflight Inc closes for business generally on December 12th, and resumes work on January 2nd business week.
ROUTING: To avoid the pet not flying where you want it to go, chose PetFlight to handle your pets flight. We will tell you what route your pet(s) must fly, and when they can travel with little fear of embargo (or other causes for non-flight).
BAD INFORMATION: You may have asked a person who is not qualified to know that your pet, the kennel size, the labeling, the affixments, the interior, the documentation (including original certifications, and original import permits) the routing, freight payment, booking, and all of the country of arrival regulations have been properly met prior to submitting the pet, at the acceptable time, at the proper receiving cargo facility.

TOO YOUNG: Some countries will not accept very young animals.
WEATHER EMBARGO: Increasingly, climate change is becoming a problem for outward bound pets from Toronto. Some airlines are equipped to take pets in even the hottest weather but it depends on the destination if they can be used or not. At the moment, Air Canada is not set up to handle pets in extreme temperatures. It is difficult, therefore, to guage even by long range weather forecasts to know when an embargo will become in effect, or be removed. There is nothing the pet shipper can do, other than additionally board the pet at the vet hospital of our choice (at your additional cost), until the airline accepts pets again. This can be a real problem for pets going to Australasia, as everything is timed.
