KENNEL SIZE OR WEIGHT Some aircraft are too small, or not configured to carry large kennels, so another airline must be chosen, or a later flight must be selected. You decided to do this yourself, you got to the airport, and your pet was refused because the kennel was too small for the size/weight of the pet you have in it. You will now purchase a larger kennel, and pay the airline a thousand or more to fly the bigger size difference. With Petflight, you avoid this problem.

BRACHIOCEPHALIC Each airline has it's own criteria what they will and will not accept. Some will take certain cross breeds, others will not (such as KLM, who has a very short list of banned breeds, including cross breed). British Airways is notable for not taking these at all. Brachiocephalic is a snub nosed cat or dog - they are known genetically to have breathing problems. Some breeds have problems keeping their own body temperature cool enough in flight, for others the breeding has been so genetically altered as to make them an intolerable flight risk. You can read up more studies on the internet. These include (but are not limited to):
Affenpinscher, Apple Headed Chihuahua, Boston Terriers, Boxers, Bulldogs, Bullmastiffs, Cane Corso, Chow Chow, Chin, Dutch Pugs (Mopshond, Mops Hund, Carlino) English Bulldogs, English Mastiffs, English Toy Spaniels (King Charles Spaniels), French Bulldogs, Griffon Bruxellois, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Neopolitan Mastiffs, Mastiffs, Pekinese, Pugs, Rottweiller, Shar-Pei, Shih Tzu, Valley Bulldog
DANGEROUS BREEDS Many airlines will actually prohibit flying any dog that they consider to be exhibiting offensive/aggressive behavior. Additionally, they will not accept certain breeds under any conditions. These breeds differ from airline to airline, but they include (not limited to) - some airlines will take some of these:
Every name there is for Pit Bulls, Bullmastiff, De Presa Canario, Doberman Pinscher, Dogo Argentino, Dogo de Burdeos, Fila Brasileiro, Mastin Napolitano, Rottweiler, Tosa breeds
American Burmese, American Wirehair cat, British Shorthair, Colourpoint Persian, Exotic shorthair, Himalayan, Persian, Scottish Fold

COVID-19: Measures taken by governments, carriers, and others, in response to this pandemic, are likely to continue interfering with &/or preventing performance of our services. Petflight accepts no responsibility for a Country’s decision not to accept pets, and/or airlines’ decisions to (not limited to): increase prices, not fly pets, change routings, cancel flights, change equipment, return live cargo (even while in the air). REGARDLESS OF A SIGNED CONTRACT THESE ARE YOUR PROBLEMS BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU JUST THE SAME, HAD PETFLIGHT NOT BEEN INVOLVED, AND SO THE ADDED COSTS AND EFFORT INVOLVED ARE YOURS TO BEAR FULLY - PETFLIGHT WILL NOT ABSORB ADDITIONAL COSTS. Airlines are not offering extended quotes that are good for 30 days or more, their quotes are good for the day offered, therefor, Petflight offers the same one day validity quote as a PRICE INDICATION ONLY.
ALSO: The kennel manufacturing plant reduced production due to Covid. Pet store kennel purchases are almost non-existent. If Petflight can't easily source a kennel for your pet shipment, we will let you know what kind and size to find for yourself.
EMBARGO means, the pet will not fly (no matter what). Within Canada no pets are flown during Christmas rush (which is between about the 15th December to about the 15th January). Animals booked to fly overseas, may still fly closer to Christmas, but Petflight Inc closes for business generally on December 12th, and resumes work on January 2nd business week.
TOO YOUNG Some countries will not accept very young animals.
WEATHER EMBARGO Increasingly, climate change is becoming a problem for outward bound pets from Toronto. Some airlines are equipped to take pets in even the hottest weather but it depends on the destination if they can be used or not. At the moment, Air Canada is not set up to handle pets in extreme temperatures. It is difficult, therefore, to guage even by long range weather forecasts to know when an embargo will become in effect, or be removed. There is nothing the pet shipper can do, other than additionally board the pet at the vet hospital of our choice (at your additional cost), until the airline accepts pets again. This can be a real problem for pets going to Australasia, as everything is timed.
TRAVEL BOOKING AGENTS book people, not pets. They are renowned for providing bad information regarding any live cargo - they just don't know.
