Barcodes make reading grocery store products more efficient, by simply swiping vertical black lines across a reader. Microchips work with same result - it identifies your pet with a number that has no duplicate anywhere in the world (it is only found in your specific pet).
HOW THE MICROCHIP APPLIES TO PET TRANSPORT. Countries have harmonized regulations for importing pets requiring that the pet has a microchip implanted, that a microchip implantation certificate accompanies the documents, and that the matching microchip number appears on the vaccination records and blood test results. Petflight checks the documentation you and your vet provide, we are not obliged to check the pet(s) for a microchip, or that the microchip number matches the original certificates that you and/or your vet provide. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check with your vet.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Everything hinges on there being a microchip in your pet, that it is universally readable, and is exactly the same number as on your vet supplied certificates. We don't see your pet(s) until a few days before flight - which you'll agree is far too late to learn that there is any kind of problem with the microchip; therefor, it is your responsibility to get your veterinarian to read your pet(s) microchip 4 to 3 weeks prior to flight. Please note:

Every time your veterinarian provides a certificate for work they do, they should have checked the microchip in your pet(s), their certificate also states a breed/breed mix.
Petflight Incorporated checks your paperwork,
The vet (we use) checks the health of your pet(s) and certifies them fit to fly, or not fit to fly, or they simply overnight your pet(s) to de-stress them, and keep an eye on them to see they will not be a threat to the aircraft. Vets generally agree on the breed of pets; however, if our vet assesses your pet is not the breed/mix stated on your certificates, and if the shipment stops because of it, you are responsible for costs incurred and delays resulting, regardless of the outcome of a DNA test if such is required to move your pet(s).
